| | Can I Edit Student Names on Submissions? |
Yes! Once a student has started an Assignment, you can edit their displayed name at any time.
Whether Submissions are showing under school IDs or a student decided to enter something… less than professional, you can easily update how the name appears in your Classwork.com view.
Note: When you edit a student’s name, the change only affects your teacher view inside Classwork.com. It does not change how the student logs in or accesses the Assignment — they’ll still use the original name, email, or username they entered when starting the Activity.
How to Edit a Student’s Displayed Name
- From your Review Submissions screen, click the student’s name whose Submission you want to view. This will open their work in Review Mode.
- On the left side of the screen, you’ll see their name with an Edit button next to it.

- Click Edit and a pop-up window will appear.

- Enter the updated name and click Save.
Can I change all the students display names at once?
Currently, Classwork.com only allows you to edit the displayed names for students one Assignment at a time.
There isn’t yet a single screen to batch-edit all student names across your account.
If you’d find that feature useful, let us know by emailing support@classwork.com — your feedback helps guide what we build next!
