Archive Students

Archiving students allows you to remove students from your active student list without deleting their work. Archived students keep all of their submissions, grades, and feedback, but they no longer appear in your active view.

This is helpful when students leave a class, move to a new term, or when you want to clean up your student list while preserving past records.

How to Access the Students Tab

1. From the left-hand menu, click Classes.
2. At the top left of the Classes page, click the gear icon next to Classes.
3. The Setup Classes and Students screen opens.
4. Click the Students tab at the top of the page.

This view displays every student associated with your account.

When the Archive Option Appears

The Archive option becomes available when you select a single student using the checkbox next to their name.

• If one student is selected, you will see the Archive option.
• If two or more students are selected, you will see the Merge Students option instead.

How to Archive a Student

1. In the Students tab, locate the student you want to archive.
2. Select the checkbox to the left of the student’s name.
3. At the bottom of the screen, click Archive.

The student will immediately move to the Archived Students section of the table.

What Happens After Archiving

When a student is archived:

• The student is removed from the active student list.
• All submissions, grades, and feedback are preserved.
• The student record remains available in the Archived Students section.

No historical assignment data is deleted.

How to Restore Archived Students

1. Scroll to the Archived Students section.
2. Select one or more students using the checkbox.
3. Click Restore at the bottom of the screen.

The student will return to the appropriate active section of the Students table.

Important Notes

• Archiving students does not delete their data.
• Archived students can be restored at any time.
• Archiving helps keep your student list organized between terms.
