Can Students Chat With a Historical Figure in Classwork.com?

Classwork.com does not offer student chat or AI chat features. Students cannot chat with a historical figure, interact with an AI character, or use any conversational AI tools inside Classwork.com.

AI Create is available only to you when creating Activities. Students do not have access to any AI tools in Classwork.com.

What You Can Do Instead

If you want to create an engaging Activity involving a historical figure, you can use AI Create to generate instructional content for students to read and respond to.

For example, you can use AI Create to generate:

  • a journal entry “written by” a historical figure

  • a fictional conversation

  • a letter

  • a first-person monologue

  • a short passage written in the voice of the person

Then you can build a Classwork.com Activity around that passage.

Add Questions for Students to Answer

After you have your passage, you can add autogradable Question Types such as:

  • Multiple Choice

  • Multiselect

  • True/False

  • Hot Text

  • Drop Zone

  • Text Entry

You can also include open-response Question Types:

  • Short Constructed Response

  • Extended Open Response

This lets students interact with the material academically rather than through AI chat.

Why Students Cannot Chat With AI in Classwork.com

Classwork.com does not include:

  • student-to-AI chat

  • simulated character conversations

  • messaging features

  • student chat tools

All AI capabilities are designed for teacher content creation only. Students complete the Activities you create, but they do not interact with AI directly.
