How To Capture a HAR File For Tech Support |
If you're having trouble with Classwork.com, our support group may request that you capture a HAR file in your browser. A HAR file is essentially a recording of the network activity that's taking place, and it lets our support team review in detail the interactions between your browser and the application server.
To capture the HAR file, follow these instructions, depending on your browser.
Chrome
- Hit F12 to open the Developer's Tools panel.
- Choose the "Network" tab.

- Check "Preserve log."

- With the Developer's Tools panel still open, repeat the steps to cause the problem to occur.
- Download the HAR file to your computer by clicking the Download icon and selecting a location to store the file.

- Uncheck "Preserve log."

- Hit F12 or use the "X" in the upper right to close the Developer's Tools.
- Find and send the saved HAR file to support@classwork.com.
Firefox
- Hit F12 to open the Developer's Tools panel.
- Choose the "Network" tab.

- Click the Setup gear icon.
- Turn on "Persist logs."

- With the Developer's Tools panel still open, repeat the steps to cause the problem to occur.
- Click the Gear icon again, then choose "Save All as HAR."

- Choose a location to save the file.
- Turn off "Persist logs" by clicking the gear icon and clicking the checked "Persist logs."

- Hit F12 or use the "X" in the upper right to close the Developer's Tools.
