From the Assignment Detail screen, clicking the pencil icon in the top left panel opens the assigned activity in the Activity Editor. What you’re able to edit depends on whether the activity has been assigned or not.

If the activity has never been assigned:

You’ll have full editing access. You can add or delete questions, change layout, insert text or images, and fully redesign the activity.

If the activity has already been assigned:

The Editor will open in Answer Key Mode, which limits what you can change in order to protect student submissions. In this mode:

You can:

• Update correct answers and point values
• Adjust scoring or scoring settings
• Move or resize existing elements

You cannot:

• Add or delete scorable or draggable items
• Change the number of choices in questions like Multiple Choice or Dropdown
• Rearrange slides or change activity structure

To make a major change after assigning (like for a new group of students), use the Make a Copy from the Activity Detail screen — not from the Assignment Detail screen.
