Archive Assignments - Activity Detail Screen

To get to the Activity Detail screen, go to your Activities page and either:

  • Click the name of an activity, or
  • Click Review from the Activity Menu

Once you're on the Activity Detail screen, look at the right panel — this is where you’ll see a list of all assignments tied to that activity.

Since valuable student data is connected to each assignment, Classwork.com doesn’t allow you to delete assignments outright. Instead, you can archive them to hide them from your main view without losing any data.

How to Archive Assignments

  • In the right panel, check the box next to one or more assignments.
  • Click the Archive button (box icon) that appears in the top-right corner of the panel.
  • Confirm the action by clicking the red Confirm Archive button in the popup that appears. It will say: “Are you sure you want to archive [number] assignments?” Once confirmed, your assignments will be moved to the Archived Assignments view.

Tip: Use “Select all assignments” to archive everything in bulk for that activity — great for clearing out last year’s work.

How to View or Restore Archived Assignments

  • At the top of the right panel, toggle from Active Assignments to Archived Assignments.
  • Use the Restore button next to any assignment to bring it back.
  • Switch back to Active Assignments to view it alongside current classwork.

Using Google Classroom, Canvas, or Schoology?

Once an assignment is archived, any LMS links pointing to it will no longer work for students.

To reuse the activity:

  • Create a new assignment using the + New Assignment button.
  • For Canvas or Schoology, update the links in your LMS.
  • For Google Classroom, the new assignment will be posted directly into the class you select during setup.

If you're cleaning up old assignments in Google Classroom, you'll need to manually remove those posts from within Google Classroom itself.

⚠️ Can I Archive Assignments in Bulk?

You can archive multiple assignments from the same activity, but not across multiple activities or folders at once.
