Creating an Activity |
Ready to start creating Classwork.com activities? We'll get you started in five short minutes!
First, let's sign in.
- Visit https://www.classwork.com and click the "Login" link in the upper right
- Enter your username and password or use the convenient "Sign In With Google" link if you're set up for that.
Create a New Activity
You're now viewing your Classwork.com home page, or what we like to call the Digital File Cabinet. It's where you see the list of all your activities. Let's create a new one! If this is your first time, and you've never created one, you'll jump right to the "This pop up will appear" section without even clicking the New button. We make everything easy!
- In the middle margain of your "Activities" page, click the green “+ New File” button.
- This pop up will appear. You can choose to upload a file, use AI to generate original materials, or start from scratch.
If you choose to upload a file (like the attached Classwork.com Sampler), follow the steps below.
• Want to USE AI to make content? Jump to that section.
• Want to CREATE on a blank canvas? Jump to that section.
UPLOAD a file and work with it
- You're going to build activity from an existing PDF, so click "UPLOAD a file and work with it."
- Choose the file to upload from your computer or from Google Drive.
- You can also just drag a file and drop it onto that option to begin the upload.
⭐ Choose Your Pages ⭐
The computer will process your file for a second, then you'll choose the pages and how you'd like them to display.
- Choose the pages from the thumbnails by clicking each page you want to include.
- The pages you choose will be checked and highlighted in blue.
- Click "Submit" to continue.
USE Ai to make content
In the pop-up window, choose Use AI to Make Content (yellow square).
On the next screen, you will have 5 options, to see all of these options in depth click here
The following are your options
Import content previously generated in an Ai LLM like Chat GPT, Claude, Gemini, LLaMA, or Grok. Use our currated prompts to help create the desired output, found here, and then copy the content generated by the Ai into Classwork by selecting "Import or Paste Content here"
Generate reading passages or text using our content assistant
Generate questions based on grade level and subject
Generate questions from a passage or text - This can be a passage you paste in, or one generated by our content assistant.
Create Questions based on grade level and State Standards.
For this walkthrough, we are going to only make questions, so select Create Questions from Standards (bottom option).
*If you are an international customer, Classwork.com reccommends using Common Core State Standards, and if you want your regions standards added to our Standards list, just email us at support@classwork.com
Choose Your Standard
- Click Edit next to Learning Standards.
- Click Search Standards.
- Select your Course, Grade Level, and Standard.
- Click Save Changes.
Pick Your Question Types
Choose item types (e.g. Multiple Choice, Fill in the Blank).
Set the number of questions (suggested: 4 for a quick warm-up).
Click Generate Questions.
Review and Edit Questions
Click Add Questions to add them to your activity.
Double-click any question to customize it.
Classwork.com will create your new activity and open the Activity Editor for you.
CREATE on a blank canvas
Use this option when you're starting from scratch. Clicking CREATE opens the Activity Editor—also known as The Editor—where you can build your own content from the ground up. Add text, images, audio, video, and (most importantly) auto-scored questions.
Classwork.com will create your new activity and open the Activity Editor for you.
This option is best for creating Authored Question Types, which currently include: Hot Text, Inline Choice, Inline Drag and Drop, Match Table Grid, Multiple Choice, MultiSelect, and Fill in the Blank.
Once you're in The Editor, you can also use the Content Assistant to generate passages and questions automatically, or paste in content you’ve created in ChatGPT or another tool.
Name Your Activity
You will need to give your activity a title.
- Click the pencil next to "Edit Activity: Untitled Activity"
- Enter the title of your activity.
- You've created a new activity!
