Exit tickets help your students demonstrate learning before they walk out the door. They give you instant, actionable data—without a mountain of paper to grade.

1️⃣ Log in and Start a New Activity

  • Go to your Activities screen.
  • Click the New File button (green with plus sign at the top center).

2️⃣ Use the Content Assistant

  • In the pop-up window, choose Use AI to Make Content (yellow square).
  • On the next screen, select Create Questions from Standards (bottom option).

3️⃣ Choose Your Standard

  • Click Edit next to Learning Standards.
  • Click Search Standards.
  • Select your Course, Grade Level, and Standard.
  • Click Save Changes.

4️⃣ Pick Your Questions

  • Choose your item type (recommended: Multiple Choice).
  • Set the number of questions to 4 (you can deselect extras later).
  • Click Generate Questions.

5️⃣ Review and Edit Your Questions

  • Review the generated questions.
  • Leave checked only the 2 you want to keep for your exit ticket.
  • Click Add Questions to add them to your activity.
  • Double-click any question to customize it as needed.

6️⃣ Name Your Activity

  • Type your activity name.

  • You do not have to save! Similar to the Google suite, Classwork Autosaves your work in real time.


7️⃣ Preview the Student View

  • Click the Preview icon (monitor with an eye) on the toolbar.
  • Check that everything looks good from the student perspective.
  • Close the preview when finished.

8️⃣ Assign Your Exit Ticket

  • Click Create Assignment.
  • Select your LMS (e.g. Google Classroom).
  • Choose the class you want to assign to and click Next.
  • Set a time limit (recommended: 2 minutes for quick reflection).
  • Click Save to finish assigning.

Tips for Effective Exit Tickets

  • Keep it short— 1–5 questions students can complete in 2–3 minutes.
  • Align to that day's objective or standard.
  • Use data to inform your next day's instruction.
  • Encourage honest reflection and critical thinking.
