Dealing With the 25-Page Limit

Currently, Classwork.com limits PDF uploads to 25 pages.

This limit helps keep the system running quickly and reliably for everyone.

But don’t worry! If your PDF has more than 25 pages, you can easily split it into smaller files and upload each one as part of your activity.

Here’s how to do it:

Split your PDF into multiple files.

  • Visit https://smallpdf.com/split-pdf, a spectacular PDF-editing tool that has a friendly PDF-splitter.
  • Upload your document.
  • Set the Split after every ... pages setting to 25.

  • Click the blue Split button.
  • Click the Download button.

  • Save the ZIP file somewhere on your local computer.
  • Unzip the ZIP file to retrieve the individual PDF files.

Create a New Activity Using the First PDF File

  • In Classwork.com, click New then New Activity.
  • Click UPLOAD a File and Work With It.
  • Select Upload a file from your computer.
  • Choose the first PDF file (its name should end in "-1.pdf") from the files you unzipped earlier.
  • Select all the pages.
  • Click Submit.
  • Classwork.com will create a new activity and drop you into the Studio editor to edit it.

Add the Second PDF

  • Open the Slide menu and click Create New Slide(s) from a File.

  • Click Upload a File.
  • Select the second PDF from your computer.
  • Click Select All to select all the pages.
  • Set Where to add the new page(s)? to At the end.
  • Click the Add Pages button.

Repeat With Remaining Files

  • Repeat the process you used to add the second file for remaining file.
  • There is no limit to the number of slides you may add to a single activity, though the performance of your browser may slow down, depending on available memory and processor speed. Be sure to test the resulting activity on the same kind of device your students will use to access it.
