Admin - File Upload Format |
If you're a Classwork Administrator for your school or district, you can upload a list of users for your account(s). Just follow these instructions:
How To Upload
- Login to your Classwork.com account.
- Select "Administration" from the main menu.
- Choose which Organization you wish to upload users for.
- Select "Import Users."
The Upload File Format
The file you upload must be in the right format. It's a CSV file, which can be created from Google Sheets, Excel, and even many SIS systems. The file MUST have the right columns, and they MUST be in this order, including the headers:
Column Header | Notes |
---|---|
Last Name | Required. |
First Name | Required. |
Email Address | Required. The system will search for this email and the Second Email and, if a user is found under either, add the user to your license. If not found, a new user will be created, and the first and second emails will be added to that user's account. |
Second Email | Optional. Users can have multiple emails, which is handy if your district gives users multiple addresses with different domains (e.g. user@district.org and user@app.district.org). Note: If a user is found that already has the first email, and a different user is found that has the second email, an error will be displayed. You must contact us at support@classwork.com to fix that problem. |
Organization | Required. This field must match the name of the Organization you're importing. This is handy if you're managing multiple schools, because you can keep all the users in the same file. PRO TIP: If you have a user in the file, but don't want them to have a license, you can remove the value in this field for their row, and the system will skip their information. |
Other columns | You can use the other columns for whatever purposes you wish. For instance, you can add a "Date Imported" column to the right of the "Organization" column and store the date the file was last imported. This will be ignored by the system during import. |
File Template
You may start with the attached template, which has the headers already in place.
