How Do I Add Video to an Activity? |
Video Tool
Use the Video tool to embed videos directly into your Activities. Students can watch without leaving Classwork, keeping everything in one place.
Classwork does not host videos. Instead, paste a link from a supported streaming service such as YouTube or another publicly accessible video source. Direct Google Drive or OneDrive links are not supported.
Add a Video to Your Activity
To insert a video:
- In the Tool Box, click Content.
- Select Video.
Your cursor will turn into crosshairs. Click or drag to place the video area.
The Edit Video window will appear.

Choose how the video will display, then paste the video URL into the field provided.
Display Options
Inline Video
An Inline video appears directly on your Activity as a playable thumbnail. Use this option when you want the video visible at all times.
Students can watch in the embedded window or expand to full screen.
Floating Video
A Floating video plays in a movable window. Instead of embedding directly on the page, students click a Watch Video button to launch it.
Use this option when space is limited or when students need to scroll through the Activity while watching.

Previewing the Video
It is always recommended to preview the video before assigning.
- Click Edit to reopen the dialog and preview.
- Use the Watch Video button in the toolbar.
- Preview the entire Activity to see the student view.

What Students See
Students can watch videos while interacting with other parts of the Assignment.
- Inline videos stay fixed in place but can be expanded.
- Floating videos can be moved around the screen and expanded.
