Does Classwork.com Require Parental Permission Under COPPA? |
Maybe.
Classwork.com activities are typically accessed through Learning Management Systems (LMSs) such as Google Classroom, Canvas, or Schoology. While Classwork.com stores limited personally identifiable information (PII) provided by these systems, we do not create or manage student accounts directly.
If your school or district has already obtained parental consent for the use of your LMS, that consent generally extends to Classwork.com since it functions as an integrated educational tool within those systems.
Teachers may occasionally create activities that allow students to record audio or video responses as part of their work. In those cases, whether additional parental permission is required depends on your school or district’s data privacy policies.
Classwork.com takes data privacy and protection seriously.
We do not sell or share student information.
We only exchange data with your connected LMS to support grading and reporting.
All data is stored securely on servers located in the United States.
If you have questions about your school’s COPPA compliance, please consult your administrator or data privacy officer.
