Using the Matching Question Type |
The Matching tool lets students draw a line from one object to another. It’s for 1:1 matches only, e.g. the word “frog” and a picture of a frog can be matched with a line.
To create a Matching question type, select Matching under Question Types. Draw boxes around each object you want the student to match. To create the correct answers, click on one item and then its correct match; a dotted blue line will connect the two boxes, and both will turn green. If you need to undo a match, click one of the items in the pair to highlight it, then select Clear Link from the top toolbar. Continue until you’ve set up all the correct matches for your question.

To stay in the tool, press the spacebar after creating a box. The crosshairs will reappear and you can click and drag to make another box.
You can also click on your first box and duplicate it using the Ctrl + D shortcut. This works well if you need multiple boxes of the same size.
Once you've created all of your boxes, move them to where they belong on your activity.
Connect your matched pairs: Click on one box, then simply click on its match. A dotted blue line will appear showing that they are attached. Both boxes will turn green.
Disconnect your matches: Click on one of the boxes in the pair and then click the Clear Link button in your top toolbar. The blue line will disappear and your answer choices will turn red.
To change Point Value:
Each match in Classwork.com is worth 1 point by default. To adjust this, select one box from a matching pair, then click the green “1” in the top toolbar and enter the new value. Repeat this step for each matching pair you want to change.
